The bus line, according to local media in operation since 2006, has been very popular with tourists for many years. The town of Hel is located on a peninsula in the north of the Baltic Sea, near Gdańsk. Some tourists would make the ride just to say they took the 666 to Hel.
The local bus company PKS Gdynia would have come to the decision under pressure from Christian groups who do not agree with the combination of the figure with the destination. For example, a Catholic medium has been calling on all kinds of authorities involved for years to give the line a different number.

However, there is a chance that the transport company will reverse its decision. The decision has caused quite a stir in the country and many people do not agree with it.
It will not be reversed in the short term, but a spokesperson indicates that it cannot be ruled out that it will happen anyway. "We will listen to the views of all our passengers."
