SOPOT RESORT DAYS

In June 1823, the municipal bathing establishment was incorporated and this date was accepted as the birth of Sopot as a resort. In connection with this anniversary the organizers together with the city of Sopot and the Municipal Sports and Recreation Center in Sopot decided to postpone the date of the Resort Days to June and extend the celebration by 2 additional days.

3 days of celebrating 200 years of tradition

The Resort Days were created with the inhabitants of Sopot and the region in mind, but also guests coming from all over Poland in order to encourage them to use the health resort's advantages and the rich SPA offer.

Celebrations of the 200th anniversary began in May. However, the Resort Days (June 9-11) will be the official culmination of the celebrations. During the long weekend in June, at the Resort Square (Skwer Kuracyjny) and the Pier, you will be able to feel the spa atmosphere of Sopot on your own skin, undergo treatments with the use of local brine, learn more about the city's curative offer, but also spend this time actively, dance, sing, and even take part in a colorful parade. Especially for this occasion, evening screenings have been prepared to decorate the Sopot Lantern, and for those who are persistent, there will be a night tour of the city.

For 3 days (9-11.06) from the morning in the town on the Resort Square, before entering the Pier, you may take advantage of free treatment, massages, workshops, lectures, competitions with prizes and shows. Visitors could learn more about the specifics of spa medicine, but also see a presentation of historical beachwear and a free cruise on the Bay of Gdańsk.

Resort (Polish "Kurort") is a bit of a magical word, maybe a bit forgotten, because in recent years the word "health resort" (Polish "uzdrowisko") has often been used. We will deliberately return to the word resort and to the idea of a resort. Because the resort is a place where the soul and body are healed. This is a place where, apart from swimming ponds and health-promoting ponds, there is also a very rich cultural and recreational offer and where you simply spend time well - says Magdalena Czarzyńska-Jachim, vice-president of Sopot.
